Roof Repairs, New Roofs & Roof Replacement
From a single slipped tile or a leaking valley through to a complete new roof in slate, clay or concrete tile — inspected properly, explained clearly and repaired to last.
Every part of the roof, repaired or replaced.
Roof repairs, complete replacements, pitched and flat roofing, chimneys, leadwork and roofline. Whether it's one broken tile or a whole new roof, we inspect first, explain what we find, and carry out the right repair — not the biggest one.
The roofing work we carry out every week.
Finding the real source of the leak — then fixing that, not the symptom.
Stripped to the timbers and rebuilt to last the next fifty years and more.
Stacks take the worst weather on the house — kept sound, top to flashing.
The boards that carry your gutters and close your roof — replaced properly.
Made safe first, repaired properly second — with the photographs your insurer needs.
A new covering on sound bones — the most common kind of "new roof".
Roofing done properly, from first inspection to final sign-off.
A roof only fails in a handful of ways — slipped or broken tiles, worn flashings, failed valleys, tired felt, blocked gutters — and the difference between a lasting repair and a repeat visit is finding the real cause. We inspect before we quote, photograph what we find, and tell you honestly whether the roof needs a repair or a replacement.
About Elgar Roof →Roofing questions, answered
Do you repair roofs, or only replace them?
Both. A large part of our work is repair — slipped and broken tiles, leaking valleys, failed flashings, ridge and verge problems, storm damage. We inspect the roof first and tell you honestly whether a repair will last or whether the roof has reached the point where replacement is the more economical option.
Do you offer free quotations?
Yes. Send us photographs of the problem through the contact form, or ask us to carry out a roof inspection, and we'll provide a free, no-obligation quotation with a clear explanation of the work involved.
Can you find and fix a roof leak?
Yes — finding the source is the important part, because water often shows up indoors some distance from where it actually gets in. We check the usual culprits: cracked or slipped tiles, failed flashings around chimneys, worn valleys, damaged ridge tiles and blocked gutters, then quote for the repair that fixes the cause rather than the symptom.
Do you work on both pitched and flat roofs?
Yes. We work with pitched roofs in natural slate, clay and concrete tile, and with flat roofing systems including felt, EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass — repairs, refurbishment and full replacement.
Do you repair chimneys and leadwork?
Yes. Chimney repointing, flaunching and flashing repairs, lead valleys, lead flashings and general leadwork are a regular part of our repair work — chimneys are one of the most common sources of roof leaks.
What should I do about storm damage?
Get in touch as soon as it's safe to do so and send photographs if you can. We'll make the roof weathertight first to stop any further damage, then quote for the permanent repair. Photographs of the damage are also useful if you intend to claim on your buildings insurance.
