Privacy Policy

How we use, store and protect the information you share with us.

This privacy policy explains how Elgar Roof ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information you share with us when you visit this website, request a quotation, or engage us for roofing work.

Who we are

Elgar Roof is a professional roofing company. You can contact us by email (elgarroof@starlightweb.co.uk) or via our contact form.

What we collect

When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the type of roofing work you are interested in, your property type, and any message or photographs you upload. Our systems also record standard technical details of the submission (such as your IP address and browser) to help protect the form against abuse.

Why we collect it, and the legal basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
  • To arrange and carry out inspections and roofing work — performance of a contract.
  • To keep records of quotations and completed work — our legitimate interests, and legal obligations such as accounting rules.
  • To protect the website and contact form against spam and abuse — our legitimate interests.

We do not use your information for automated marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their marketing.

Photographs you send us

Photographs of your roof or property that you upload with an enquiry are stored securely outside the public area of our website — they are never browseable from the internet — and are used only to assess and carry out your work.

How long we keep information

Enquiry records are kept while your enquiry or job is live, and for up to seven years afterwards to satisfy UK accounting and guarantee obligations. You can ask us to delete your information sooner where no such obligation applies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask us to delete it, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
